The next intake of our MiniMBA in Marketing kicks off on  20 April. For any marketer wanting to join the virtual classroom this year, we ran an online Open Day –  catch up now on-demand

Led by your favourite professor, Mark Ritson, the session covered all the essential information you need on the MiniMBA in Management who it’s for, what it involves, and why so many alumni love it.

If you’re considering investing in some management training for yourself, or your team, this is a must watch

Not got time for the full session right now? We’ve pulled together a five-minute summary of the key points below...

Who teaches the course?

MiniMBA in Management is hosted by Professor Helen Edwards, who has taught marketing and strategy at London Business School for more than two decades and advised organisations across a wide range of industries.

Each module, however, is taught by a different subject specialist from the world’s top business schools.

Across the course you’ll learn from internationally recognised experts including Roger Martin on strategy, Barry Nalebuff on negotiation and Raj Sisodia on conscious capitalism, alongside professors specialising in leadership, finance, innovation and organisational behaviour.

The result is a programme that combines world-class academic expertise with practical business insight. Each professor teaches the discipline they know best, giving you a clear introduction to the core skills required to lead organisations successfully.

Why MiniMBA in Management?

Most marketers reach a point in their career where marketing expertise alone isn’t enough.

To operate effectively at senior level – and especially in the boardroom – you need a broader understanding of how organisations actually work.

Finance. Strategy. Leadership. Decision-making. MiniMBA in Management is designed to give marketers exactly those skills.

Across 12 weeks, ten internationally renowned professors guide you through the core disciplines of management that make up a traditional MBA curriculum – but delivered in a format designed for busy professionals.

If you’ve already earned your marketing stripes and want to step up into broader leadership roles, this course provides the management toolkit needed to do it.

What will you learn?

Across ten modules, you’ll explore the disciplines that underpin effective management.

You’ll begin with leadership, learning how influence works inside organisations and how effective leaders navigate corporate hierarchies.

From there, the course moves into decision analysis, strategy and innovation – the tools leaders use to make better business decisions and guide organisational growth.

You’ll also gain a grounding in finance and accounting, learning to interpret balance sheets, income statements and financial ratios – and understanding how financial thinking shapes strategic choices.

Other modules explore supply chain management, organisational behaviour and negotiation, before the programme concludes with a look at conscious capitalism and the broader role businesses play in society.

At the end of the course, you’ll take part in a global business simulation designed to bring everything together.

In the simulation, you step into the role of CEO of a major company, competing against other participants while making strategic decisions across finance, operations, supply chain and leadership. Your company’s share price becomes your final grade – a fitting way to test whether your decisions actually work in practice.

Is the course right for me?

MiniMBA in Management is designed primarily for marketers who are already established in their careers and looking to step into more senior roles.

Many participants are marketing leaders, senior managers or founders who increasingly find themselves operating at the intersection of marketing and broader business management.

If you’re responsible not just for campaigns and brand strategy, but also for budgets, teams and wider business decisions, this course helps you develop the broader management perspective required at senior level.

What are the course benefits?

The MiniMBA in Management helps marketers become stronger, more confident business leaders.

By the end of the programme, you’ll have a clearer understanding of how organisations function, how strategic decisions are made and how senior leaders balance competing priorities across the business.

Immediately on completing the course, participants said:

  • 73% felt more effective as a leader
  • 84% felt more confident

MiniMBA is also designed – very deliberately – to fit around the lives of busy professionals.

Modules are online and on-demand, requiring around four to six hours of study per week. Learners study between meetings, on the train, at the gym or wherever else they can find a spare moment.

Along the way, you’ll join a global cohort of marketers and business leaders from a wide range of industries and countries, creating opportunities to learn not just from the faculty, but from each other.
